In December I scanned a bunch of photos — both professional and snapshots — from my parent’s wedding on July 23, 1977.
On their 32nd anniversary, I share my favorites with you.
At the house on Blanchard and Wabash, right around the corner from Assumption Church.
Un beso.
I love Grandma’s smile.
I wonder who caught the bouquet and the garter. By the way, she still looks at dad like that, and vice versa.
Without a doubt, mom and dad have both learned a lot from their parents about marriage and family. Grandma and Grandpa were married over 50 years. Papá Chepe and Mamá Toni have been married over 66 years.
A happy photo of the bride and the mother-in-law. I also love it because Grandma looks great. And I miss her.
I like that Papá Chepe seems hesitant and even bashful. That’s not like him. Then again, he was about to walk one of his daughters down the aisle. I love mom’s expression. She’s ready to go, but still holding tight to Papá Chepe. This is definitely one of my favorite family photos.
Happy anniversary, mom and dad. I’m happy that the love and affection shining through in these photos is still evident.
More photos from the wedding.
Your parents married three years to the day before my parents. Yesterday we went out for a small dinner & enjoyed the futbol game.
