A few weeks ago I was hanging out with a good friend who is having an amazing summer. Still, she confided that something was missing: the summer romance.
I smiled to myself and didn’t say anything, but it made me think of this list written in the big loopy handwriting of a young woman. The summer romance is on there too. Making out on the beach at night. Falling love. Champagne trick? I’m not sure…
I didn’t make my own list or tried to fulfill that list. If I did, a trip to Salamanca, Guanajuato would be on there. I’m missing Salamanca more than usual, mainly because I usually visit around this time of year (except for 2005, I visited in December). My summer just doesn’t feel right without a visit to Guanajuato and looking through pictures won’t suffice.
La Pregunta: What do you need to make your summer feel complete? Or, what’s your quintessential summer activity?
travel! i think i just had one of my best summers in a long while.
Friday morning movies. The bf and I like to take advantage that I’m off during the day and can beat the crowds. We didn’t go to many this summer. Still, there’s nothing better.
To get away – if only for a weekend – with the one I love.
I haven’t had the opportunity to fulfill this yet. Therefore, my Summer is not complete. Something’s definitely missing:(
But hey, Summer’s not over yet!!!
To bask in the sun on the beach all day and take swimming breaks to cool off in the tepid ocean waters off the Mexican coast. It’s a good thing I’m going back to visit Huatulco soon… mmmm… I can’t wait to indulge.
It’s interesting how I love going to the beach in Mexico, but not here. Guess I don’t like goosebumps or seaweed.
Ooh, almost forgot: going to a live concert or show. It’s been too long… I haven’t even been to the Bowl yet this year!
Grilling corn, hojas and all, over some hot coals. That and maybe a book, while I sit in the backyard, drinking some cold chelas. Yup, that’s summer.
A good sun burn. This is the whitest I’ve been in my life.
sun, travel, and music paired with great company 🙂
