Todo cambia

I updated WordPress for the first time in over two years. Embarrassing, I know.

The one-click upgrade was simple. Everything worked okay, except for my custom made theme. I settled on a simple temporary theme. DB stitched together some photos from the Lotería photo shoot with my buddy Rio.

I’m not sure if I should try and repair the old theme or go for something new. What do you all think?

  1. I think it really made the site stand out. It’s the extra percent that made it not seem like a generic blog.

I had the same problem with my site and the css. Just blow an afternoon or two and fix it.

As much as I liked the old one, I like the change. I think it’s a good way to keep things fresh. Plus the font is bigger and I like what you did with the pics on top.

Put me down for change. =)

  3. I really loved the old theme, but it had been a while since you updated… like you said, this theme is a little simple and basic, but I like the feel and once you add a few more personal touches it will start to feel like home.

  4. The default Kubrick theme is the best ever! Use that one if you really want to be cutting edge and original and have people praise your theme. I can’t get people to stop talking about my excellent theme, so yeah, it’s that good.

This one is okay too, but it’s no Kubrick!

  5. I like the change; it’s simple, the colors are great, and the photos as the header are a good match. I say keep it. Change can be the greatest thing ever (depending on what you’re changing of course).

  6. I, too, love change. But this theme doesn’t match the awesome intensity of the former them. That being said, I don’t think you ought to revert, but maybe considering “intensifying” this one!

old theme with new functionality, i vote. comments should be focus of comments, not commenter’s pic. super boxy.

  8. i really liked the old one but the red and the photo masthead in this one are a refreshing element. is there a way to perhaps take the best of both and make a theme around that?
